AlexAlex Rosen is a Co-Founder and Managing Director with Ridge Ventures. He combines over 20 years of venture capital experience with a deep understanding of technology and software, making him a valuable advisor to Enterprise and Consumer IT companies. He currently serves as board director or observer at Chubbies (e-commerce menswear), Fastly (Content Delivery Network), Minted (design-driven e-commerce), SafeGraph (data sets for machine learning), Smartling (translation management platform), Tempered Networks (Identity defined networking), Uplift (rewards program), and YouEarnedIt (employee recognition software).  He also led Ridge Ventures’ investments in Krux (acquired by Salesforce), MindMeld (acquired by Cisco), Vidible (acquired by Verizon/AOL), Watchguard Technologies (unified threat management), Flowdock (acquired by Rally), and Blue Box (acquired by IBM). Previously, he was a General Partner at Sprout Group, where he was head of the Internet and Software group.

Alex has been a board member, observer, or investor at MyNewPlace (acquired by RealPage), mySimon (acquired by CNET), Quintus (IPO, acquired by Avaya), Fogdog (IPO, acquired by GSI Commerce), Sapient Health Network (acquired by WebMD), SideStep (acquired by Kayak), and Rhythms (IPO, acquired by AT&T). Alex started his venture capital career as an Associate with General Atlantic Partners, served as an advisor to Vector Capital, and developed software for Telcordia and AT&T Bell Labs early in his professional life. He holds BS degrees in electrical engineering and economics from MIT and an MBA from Stanford University.
